If we include enough airholes on the sides and in the top lid, can we snap it all the way shut, to keep them out? Or does it need more air? Your food scraps should be covered by at least three inches of bedding and there shouldn't be excess moisture in the bin (only as damp as a wrung-out sponge) and if there is add more bedding to absorb it.
